Overview
Abstract Spirals is a Figma plugin that creates generative spiral patterns inspired by harmonographs and mandala art. It lets designers quickly generate and export perfectly imperfect spirals as SVGs.

Approach
While researching mandala geometry, I discovered an open-source project that simulated harmonograph motion using sine waves and pendulum friction.
I repurposed that mathematical logic, refined it for speed, and built a plugin that makes it accessible directly inside Figma.

Outcome
Now used by over 2,000+ designers every day, the plugin brings generative art into everyday design workflows.
